  • An Electronic Travel Authority allows a stay of up to three months on each entry.

How long it lasts

  • Maximum stay: 90 days.
  • The authorisation is valid for 365 days.

How long it takes

The authority states typical processing of 1–1 day(s). Processing times are not guaranteed, so apply early.

Documents you may need

Your exact checklist depends on your answers — the checker works it out for you.

  • Passport biographic page

What it costs

  • Government fee: 20.00 AUD — There is no visa application charge. The AUD 20 is a service fee for the Australian ETA app, which is the only way to apply, and it is paid inside the app.
  • Our service fee is shown separately before you pay anything. We never fold our fee into the government fee.

What we do, and what we do not do

For this product, we guide you through the official process; we do not submit anything.

We are not a government service and we are not affiliated with any authority. The official site is https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/electronic-travel-authority-601.

  • The only way to apply is the Australian ETA app. There is no web form.
  • Lodging requires a live facial image taken at the time, an NFC read of the passport chip and location services on the applicant's own device.
  • Home Affairs states the applicant must be physically present even when a travel-industry representative operates the app, and that a visa will not be granted without a live image.
  • No public API exists for lodging an application.
  • An authority does not guarantee entry; a Border Force officer decides on arrival.
